Andersen is having a weird season.

EV (min 200 FA):
SV%: .931 (4th out of 24)
GSAx: 4.56 (3rd)

SH (min 50 FA)
SV% 78.11 (17th out of 19)
GSAx: -4.09 (17th)

Giving up all his good work 5 on 5 on the PK.
 
Price the same. Although his high danger shot sv % is high he's been letting in muffins on the PP.

Like I said, Price too. That tends to be on the penalty killers more.
 
I would say its because the Leafs D is making it easier on him ES. But they are 5th in CA/60 5on5, and 4th on the PK. In xGA 19th and 11th, respectively.

So its just weird.
 
Looking back at the last 2 years its pretty consistent though. Fred is around 9th out of 27 in ES sv% (min 2500 FA), and 28th out of 34 on the PK (min 400 FA).

He just sucks on the PK.
 
From 2017-2019, Fred was 13th in ES (min 2500 FA), and 4th in PK (min 400 FA).

Maybe the smaller equipment fucked him on the PK, where he is forced to go post to post more. But his drop in performance over the last couple of years can be mostly attributed to the PK.

Iirc it was the reverse when we traded for him - mostly middling at EV but elite on the PK before toronto
 
Juiced up on watching this game tonight. Should be a gas. Will be prepping a prime roast for this one.

Looking at raw total difference in xg to g on special teams:

PP +3.5 goals for above expected (+0.3/gm)
PK +4.7 goals against above expected (+0.4/gm)

So via xga overall we're underperformed xgf% on the special teams.

I like everything about this lineup other than Vesey still on the 3rd line.

Hopefully he's the one that gets the next press box stint.
