That this team is going to self destruct from this point forward. The easy part of the season is pretty much behind us. Now the points become so much more important. Our defense is not good, goal scoring is sporadic at best, PP is anemic and the PK is not so good. If if were not for 2 very good goalies...where would we be? I having a really tough time seeing a rosy future here as we head towards the playoffs...assuming they even make the playoffs...no certain thing at this point. I truly hope I am so, so wrong. I want them to win, I want them to be a force to be reckoned with. Just not seeing it no matter how much I try and turn a blind eye to the so-so play.

what do you mean by the "easy part of the season" ? we've actually had a pretty difficult schedule so far. we've got a 112pt pace against teams ahead of us in the standings and only 8 games left against those 8 teams ahead of us in the standings.

the component numbers so far this year are middling but leaning more towards good than bad. and we've had a pretty serious injury situation to deal with.

I don't see why anyone would expect any kind of implosion from this team.

I can think of one poster who would expect an implosion even if we had the 84 oilers.
 
By "easy part of the season" I mean the other teams are not as physical as they are going to become, so a bit more of a walk in the park if you will. I'd be the first to admit I am pleasantly surprised at where we are in the standings at the moment. It really is remarkable given the level of play that we seem to devolve to at times. Hopefully I'm just being overly negative but this team just doesn't seem to be built for aggressive physical play (especially the top 6), which is what lays ahead..
 
I still think we're one of the worst best Leafs teams that I can recall.

It just doesn't feel right. I don't feel confident with them, and the way we get run over by shit teams almost every time is insane.

Yeah, the last two have definitely colored my opinion.

But, having said that, we were also pure trash in that hilarious Devils OT win.

Oettinger was terrible for Dallas in our win over them.

So, really, it's 5 shit games in a row against good teams, but we just happened to win two of them because of a Stolarz robbery and an Oettinger implosion.
