Sadly, Rogers will have the funds to keep it afloat for a long while. They also will own the rights to the Jays and Leafs - so they will have something to build their evening audience around - for probably forever. They can put in cheap filler and just broadcast that + whatever additional sports rights they have and should do okay enough. Even if sports goes to worldwide broadcast Netflix models (UFC etc) - they still hold those particular rights of their own teams. I doubt that the league can take those away.
I am hoping for Netflix etc to win out and make it one or two places (prime can be the other) to watch all sports.
