I get it when their time is low in a game we have firmly in hand, but we all know Matty and Marner would’ve have cracked 20 today under Babs.
 
By the way, who could have ever called a game with 8 goals and Matty with only two pints playing on one line and Willy with only one point playing in another?

And Kapanen with zero in a game like this concerns me.

Did not hear a single bad word about Carolina's D this entire game. Only stroking it, tons of stroking about how good it is, best in the league, etc. This game is proof in their eyes that the Leafs are porous defensively, but it's not similar proof of any weakness of Carolina's

The one that comes to mind for me was that very similar game against the Stars way back when Sundin and Niewendyk I think went back and forth in like a 7-6 win for us, with Mats getting like 5 or 6 points.

His tying goal today was pretty awesome. Showed really good patience going to the backhander after a nice pass from Mitch.
