GDT #45: JAN 8 7:30, Jets @ Leafs

note: that's very, very rare.

He hasn't even been healthy to start his career...let's not get into the usage shit either. He would be staring at 4 straight 40 goal seasons with just a bit of extra health.

I think it's time we try someone other than hyman on that top line, tbh.

I get that he does a lot of grindy shit right, he's a legit great forechecker, etc. But he really is brutal with the puck on his stick.

even with matthews and mitch on fire he still can't manage any 5v5 points whatsoever. it's crazy.

It's a shame Soupy went down. Dude looks like he does most of that gud pro shit Hyman does, while having actual hockey player skills on top of it.

This is sorta off topic for GDT but who do you think would be Robertson's ideal linemates when he makes the jump?

Wouldn't be so shocked if it was next year.

sure he's the perfect fit stylewise. but so might AJ, Mikheyev, Engvall be.

Hyman has to have one of the largest gaps between xGF and GF in the league.

He doesn't, but it's one of the places I've always struggled when analyzing Hyman. He has spent almost every shift of his NHL career on the ice with legitimately elite talent.

Hyman is a weird analytic superstar and I struggle to wrap my head around it.
