Which view is this, "broadcast"?

The thing I can't stand about the game is no matter how much I play with the settings, it seems that if the opposing player gets even close to your player, then 100% of the time they will strip the puck or intercept. Also, it is fucking impossible to check anyone, but get checked like crazy by the opposing team. Did you find this to be the case too, did you adjust settings?

I don't have the game. The Montreal Canadiens YouTube channel uploaded this.
 
I haven't played an nhl game since like NHL 10 and took a quick look at this video out of curiosity and holy fuck that is disappointing.
 
Personally expected more progress in a decade. I guess it was bound to plateau though.. not much further they can take it.

Honestly the old 90s NHL games by EA were more fun than anything I’ve seen them put out in recent years. Though the new games are beautiful to look at.
 
I was religiously into it while it was on the Genesis. When it went to the PS1, I was out. Then I tried it again during law school around ‘01, then again in ‘08, and now ‘20. They’ve all been disappointing.
