Trade Deadline over. Quarter Pole passed.
20 games left. Everything to play for.
Leafs have let the panthers edge ahead for 1st place and the bolts are just behind. 1st place is absolutely huge and it would be a real kick in the nuts to lose it after holding it most of the year. All 3 teams have significant reinforcements. Panthers have the one major injury and i'm not even convinced Tkachuk will be back for the playoffs or at least not at 100%. Bolts and Leafs look mostly healthy heading into the stretch run - looks like Tanev might miss tonight's game but he should be back imminently if so.
Avs are on a roll right now and finally making a move up the standings. They've exploded offensively especially so the leafs better up their game from their last bunch of outings or else they might get crushed. Hopefully our 2 new "defensive" adds can actually help defensively. that would be cool.
Likely lineups, though there's a lot of guesswork here with all the new faces on both teams. The Net Ratings for the new guys are from where they were slotted on their old teams so may change significantly depending on how they're slotted in their new teams. I'm including Tanev in this one even though he may miss tonight just because i wanted to take a look at what the new roster will actually look like. Obviously replace Tanev with Benoit if tanev can't go.
