GDT #8: 2024/10/24 TOR v STL: Berube's Revenge

Lean into your strengths as a team. Berube came in and immediately said they need to play a north-south chip and chase style. Not really how they're built but I was like ok we'll see.

Benoit 4:18, 10.9% (-0.21) --- Timmins 4:06, 20.0% (-0.20)

not just terrible, but boring as fuck too.

If this carries on, they're gonna blow up this team and we'll see all these guys win wherever they end up.

Makes no sense how you can suppress this kind of talent under any kind of coaching or strategy, or that they just aren't "winners" or whatever other similar bullshit narrative.

Maybe start with the simplest thing - the awful fourth line - and go from there. This is the yearly tradition that we can't seem to break in order to have a properly stacked team.

And Benoit serves his purpose I guess, but Timmins is shit. If you're going to destroy Lilly's value, then at least let him destroy it on the ice. Killing him via pressbox is the stupidest fucking thing I've ever seen.
