GDT #9: 2024/10/26 HNIC - TOR @ BOS - f boston

Yeah, it's early.

Will they get their shit together and become a team? Time will tell I guess.

Personally, I was very happy with the good start but holy fuck, it looks like the same old shit all over again now.

Watching the game last night I found myself becoming disinterested in it as it progressed. Maybe that's a good thing, I don't know.

At October 27:
2024-25: 9 go, 49.86 xgf%
2023-24: 7 gp, 49.40%
2022-23: 8 go, 49.88%
2021-22: 8 gp, 52.06%
2020-21: 9 gp, 55.16%
2019-20: 13 gp, 48.14
2018-19: 11 gp, 50.16%

Looks like it might be a short season again,

I don't know what the solution is but it's pretty hilarious that they haven't tried changing anything

The team is stale. They’re mentally obstructed because these same guys know they haven’t been good enough to get to the next level and are playing like they think they can’t. They have to add another dynamic player to inject some life without subtracting any of the big names, to instill the belief that they have that extra to advance as a group.

Someone like Karlsson would’ve been great. Someone like Hertl, Meier. Just someone at that level, and for fuck sake, move out the trash like Reaves, Kampf, Timmins, etc., and let league minimum kids sink or swim in those roles.

Well that makes me feel better. If there’s one thing we wanted for this year after another playoff embarrassment, new management, and a new coach… it was the status quo.
The only way you're going to change the status quo is to break up the core 4. Everything else is just rearranging deck chairs.

I am 65 and have been a Leafs fan my entire life. I can honestly say that this year I truly don't like this team. I am so fed up with mediocre performance by what should be a dynamic, skilled and physical offensive powerhouse. It has finally dawned on me that this will never, ever be this team. My resolve has been broken. The one and only positive has been Stolarz.

68 here and feel the same.
