A defence with Emelin, Barberio, Pateryn and Bartley can't handle their attack, especially with them having last change.

Just came back from the game, obviously dissapointed not only because of result, because even some young boys didn't care much, few notes from game:
1) Sharks played last night, we were there up to 3rd period and guess what, tired team was us, effect of traveling maybe.
2) There is reason why Barberio and Bartely struggle to become regular, they had tough night.
3) Max looked totally unmotivated, few occasions he could stay on ice and get the pass to create something, instead he decided to end his shift
4) Crowd was around 16250, almost 1000 short from full capacity, also it looked like there were more empty seats, tickets bought by companies most likely.
5)At my surprise a lot of people understand the game, many even knew some Habs players, i was quite a bit surprised seeing that from fans in North Cal, we always think hockey is only belong to Canada.
6) Something between 1200 to 1500 Habs fans showed up.
7) This team is really bad in defense and it shows having 3 AHL guys.
8) I kind of liked what i saw from Danault up to 3rd period, obviously in 3rd everyone gave up.
9) DLR need to go, if we got Danault i don't see why we want keep him. The guy has zero offense in him.

How so? The Habs HAVE to get a top-3 pick....they won't. People can talk all they want about nice to have etc., IMO a top-3 pick is a must, they need that draft pick taking a regular shift in the top-9 next Oct....and contributing.

Condon made some decent saves then remembered he was Condon and allowed Stonewall Jackson's goal in the 2nd period. JEB Stuart had a great game for the Sharks too.

You do realize that by missing the playoffs they have a shot at a top 3 pick with the new lottery, right? I know, odds are reduced, but people still buy lottery tickets and sometimes win.

Hope is not a strategy, planning is. As in planning to ensure a bottom-3 finish. The entire mandate for the remainder of the season should be focus on losing as many games as possible in regulation. I would bench Plekanec, Markov, and Emelin for the remainder of the season. It's a win-win, they will want out post-season for the humiliation.
