Eller did the right thing: he maintained possession which is of paramount importance during 3-on-3. Then he passed to Markov who promptly tried a behind the back pass which led to the goal.

Can't understand why anyone would pass the puck back to Markov on a 3 on 3 . The geezer just cant carry the puck anymore.

finally doing what I have been doing all year.. I hate the top two lines, the pop gun offence is hard to take, I watch the first period and by the 2nd period the game becomes back ground noise..

If Eller had tried to keep it in the offensive zone he'd either have to toss it into the corner or get stripped at the blue line. Either way he would have had to relinquish possession. So taking it out of the zone and allowing his team to change out the line was the right thing to do.

You can argue that putting Markov out there instead of, oh I don't know, ANYBODY ELSE was a bad move but that's a separate issue. Markov should know better than to make a behind the back pass during a 3-on-3.
