Just realized this wasn't up and now I'm short on time, so ... quickly.
Carolina gets back on their road horse with a late afternoon date with the reeling Islanders. Unlike their friends down on Broadway, the Isles haven't pulled the pin on big roster moves yet, but they have tinkered around the edges as their bottom 6 has basically collapsed while their top 6 has stagnated. The big emotional bump they got from hiring Patrick Roy last year has long since turned into a hangover and the Isles are dead last in the Metro and riding out a 2-5-3 record in their last 10 games.
Carolina meanwhile is hoping that a big W over Colorado puts the ghosts of a 3 game skid behind them. We'll see. I've not seen any news on the socials so I'd assume Kochetkov will remain in net since the schedule isn't terribly crowded. This is a one off roadie backed up with a 4 game homestand. No reason to throw on a guy who was on his couch a month ago unless you're doing it for funsies. Bottom line, the Isles still defend pretty well but they can't score and Kooch still needs a good outing to build confidence after his injury. I vote to let him cook.
That's all the time I've got ... enjoy
