Has anyone seen our Canes?

The Canes lead the league in goals scored, with 24 in 5 games. They also lead the league in goals against, with 24. Of those, 8 have been on special teams, 6 PP goals and 2 shorties. The Canes have also taken 31 penalties, 2nd most in the league. Who’s in goal? Who knows? Raanta started in Seattle and was pulled after giving up 4 goals on 18 shots. Kochetkov came on in relief and kept them in the game, allowing the Canes to close the gap to 4-3 before being undone by 2 goals in quick succession. Aho missed his 2nd straight game and Callahan Burke was recalled from the Colorado Eagles on an emergency basis. Burke played 2 games for the Avs last season but was held off the scoresheet.

The Avs are one of 3 remaining undefeated teams. They’ve only allowed 4 goals and are coming off a shutout over the Blackhawks. Mikko Rantanen leads with 3 goals, Cale Makar and Nathan MacKinnon have 2 each. Alexandar Georgiev has played all 4 games in goal and has a gaudy .965 Save %, saving 109 of 113 shots. He’s backed up by Ivan Prosvetov who played 13 games for the Coyotes over the last 3 seasons.

Bally Sports South for TV.

Funny how we all seemed to forget about Burke when we were talking about extra forward options. Fair enough ... he's been in the Canes fold for about ten minutes and effectively plays for another team on loan.

I just assumed Burke was not an option the Canes would really consider seeing he hasn't skated a second for the organization and therefore has zero experience with our "system".

Andersen and Aho both took the morning skate but neither is ready. So it will be Raanta or Kochetkov in goal. No word on the configuration, but I suspect we’ll see 12/6.

Got the WSU-Oregon game on in the background while I do other stuff (waiting for Michigan-Michigan State to start as an appetizer to the Canes game #threadrelevance)... Wazzoo's quarterback is named Cam Ward.... you have no idea how distracting hearing that play-by-play is.

Chatfield in the lineup. So is DeAngelo. Pesce is out with a lower body injury, Chatfield skates with Skjei. Kochetkov starts in goal, Raanta backs up.

My wife didn’t pick up on that until the 4th quarter.

Staal is a GTD? (Game time decision?) Are we cursed? thats like 25% odf the salary cap not being iced,.
Staal going still though we are down some manpower

Canes goaltending sucks…the D is bad to start but the goaltending never is consistently great. If this guy is the future it seems mid at best.

Slavin goes to the ice to block a pass, Burns in no man’s land on the PK, Lehkonen slots home a rebound, 4-3
