GDT: Canes @ Avs 10/21 9:00

Another PP goal, Rantanen skates unmolested to the high slot and sends it past Kochetkov, who was being screened.

Canes led with 9:18 left in the period. The Avs scored 4 straight, 2 of them on the PP.

Roddy’s F’ing head is going to explode…this is about as shit as his defense has ever played under his watch as coach.

Slavin slapper from the top of the left circle makes it 6-4. Sweet pass from KK across the ice.

Welp, it's bedtime.
It was bedtime long before the game even started.

That means I didn't get to watch the game but letting in 5-6 goals every game is not going to cut it. Scoring seems fine but the rest is not. Worst D and goaltending in the league, PK is at a abysmal 67,9%.
A closer analysis from someone who has watched the games so far is appreciated.

I watched the first and second periods, but then gave it up. Christer, your observation: worst Defense/Goaltending/PK seems right. Prior to the season's start, I was worried that we haven't fully addressed our ability to score, but that has been the one area where we've performed well. I don't understand how our defense could be so bad, but something needs to change - and fast.

+😁

When all is said and done I believe your worries will be on the mark. And our D will be very good. We’re not going to suddenly become a scoring machine with the same scoring parts. And our d is not going to struggle long because they know how to be good and the ability to do so is there.

It’s early. They’ve been without their 2 best forwards and are blending significant changes into the D. Pesce missed a game. If you play D as a 5 man unit those changes on D combined with the players being out make it impossible to get things dialed in. Also TDA I think needs to sit until they get things figured out and until Orlov gets acclimated.
