The Canes finish a back to back before heading further west.

Last night was a comprehensive beatdown of Pens. Special teams stood out, the PP got off the schneid, going 2/4 with goals from Necas and Ghost and the PK was a perfect 5/5. They got under Grandpa Sid’s skin and held him to the worst Corsi For of his career. Andersen had 25 saves on 26 shots. We’ll see Kochetkov tonight.

The Blues are 3-2 so far and are coming off a 1-0 OT win over the Islanders on Thursday. Only 1 win has come in regulation. Before the win over the Islanders, they had given up 4 goals in 3 straight games. Pavel Buchnevic leads with 3 goals, Jordan Kyrou and Philip Broberg each have 4 assists. Jordan Binnington has started 3 games in goal and hasn’t been great, 3.02/.895. Joel Hofer has started the other 2 and has been better, 1.98/.937. He best the Islanders on Thursday so we’ll probably seen Binnington tonight.

While St Louis' D Corps is pretty terrible, they are set up to skate with teams like Carolina ... so this one will likely be less of a stroll in the park than the game with the Pens. Still, there's going to be one defender who can't really skate out there for St Louis at all times, so the Canes should be able to probe for coverage cracks with their team speed. Should also be another game where Carolina's shifty 4th line can make some hay if they can get enough possession. The Blues' depth gets pretty clunky even if their top lines can really motor.
