After a disappointing result last night, the Canes get right back to it, looking to sweep the season series.

The Stars snapped their 4 game losing streak last night. Robertson made a great play on the first goal, finding the puck after Burns blocked his first attempt. On the 2nd, Bunting turned it over at the offensive blue line and Johnston used Slavin as a screen to snap it past Kochetkov. Aside from some line tweaking, because there was far too little offense last night, the only change should be Martin in goal.

The Slugs missed the playoffs by 1 point last season and were expected to contend this season. That hasn’t happened. They’re 6th in the Atlantic with 56 points in 57 games. But they’re 6-4 in their last 10 and have won 3 of their last 4. They have 8 players with more than 10 goals, led by JJ Peterka with 19. Skinner is right behind with 18. Casey Mittlestadt has 31 assists. After a miserable start in goal, UPL has turned things around. In his first 18 games, he was 3.13/.892. In his last 15, since January 1, he’s at 1.75/.936. Both top the league over that span among starting goalies. The Slugs are 21st in goals for and 14th in goals against. But they’re 4th in goals against since January 1 at 2.16. The Canes are first since January 1 at 2.10. Their PP isn’t good, 27th in the league. They’re 15th on the PK.

Bally Sports South for TV.

Buffalo always plays better when they manage to get to the point where it's obvious that their season is going nowhere. Sadly, we're in that zone right now so Carolina better bring their shooting boots.

Aho hurt on what looked like a nothing hit. Maybe a hit in the back? But he stayed on the bench.
