100%. If you are sick of bouncing around and "like it here" then both sides find a number they can live with and get it done. If you are going to all of a sudden play hard ball because you found your stride suddenly from fourth line winger in Chicago to the new lease on life here then you are likely moving again...

The whole brown/orange/gold colorway they adopted when they re-branded to be no longer Mighty is awful. It's been pushing 20 years since they had decent jerseys as something other than alternates, but this orange on orange thing is by far the worst look. And you're right, the shade of orange isn't helping any. Shame too, because the eggplant and teal was one of the best looks in the NHL ... at least for my money. It was unique and sharp, no matter how anyone felt about the Wild Wing mask logo.

We don't even know if they're asking for anything at this point. A lot of guys prefer to just play and then sort out the contract when the season ends. And like I've said before, so long as Carolina doesn't get sucked into anything longer than a 2 year deal, I'm good with bringing Hall back ... even if you pay him something close to his current wages. Any longer or any more than that, forget it.

Hall has fit in from the get-go. Yes, he's made his share of mistakes, but he's a smart, talented veteran that could really help this club. I really like what he's saying about his experience with the Canes and believe he's a good teammate to have in the locker room. I think the two sides will find an agreement that all can live with.
 
Oh, and about the game.....it was nice to see a bounce-back from whatever it was the day before. Freddie was excellent (although he let in one stinky goal) and really helped us withstand a very aggressive push back from the Ducks. They may be building something in Anaheim. Our new guys have really settled in and are making GMET look like a beardless Gandalf at the trade deadline.

They only wore the black helmets because Anaheim made them by wearing those god-awful orange helmets. That’s the only reason those black helmets were even there
 
The Canes have worn that combo before, and I hate it. Easily avoided if they'd just wear white buckets on the road like virtually everyone else.

The Kings are the West Coast Canes. Corsi demons that always rank high in the extended stats power rankings but lacking in star power so the dingbats who cover the league constantly forget that they're actually good.

The hurricanes no longer travel with the white helmets with white jerseys. Since 2023 the red helmet goes on the road with the away whites. The backup road uniform is the third jersey or black set with black helmets. Since Carolina was not informed by the league until they arrived in Anaheim that their red helmets looked too much alike to the orange ducks helmets their only option was the only other set they travel with. Black. They did not want anything to do with wearing black helmets last night. That comes from people I still know in the locker room
 
Hall is on his 19th or whatever team for a reason. I don't think many teams want to risk a long deal. But he has been a solid player here. I'd take him over Svech on any day that ends in Y.

The Canes social media was all over that this morning. Apparently they're undefeated with that uni combo ... VERY small sample size.

Easy fix. Travel with white buckets. I'm not questioning the decision for one game ... I'm questioning the decision full stop. I freaking hate the white shirt/red helmet thing, and swapping out for black makes it even worse. They look like minor leaguers in both getups.
