We were slow to start the 1st but took over after the first 6 minutes or so. I think we looked noticeably tired in parts of the game as it wore on, but overall, a very hard-earned win to sweep the Albertians. Kudos to Kotchetkov, who needed a good performance and delivered. Much like the Edmonton game, this was a interesting goalie duel. And also to Necas, who logged his 100th.

Calgary will wear you out, which I think is part of the reason their hot start has some staying power. I was impressed with their setup and the waves they throw at you. It's completely different than the way they played last year and not that different to how Carolina plays. Not a fun team to play against in any way.

Pretty good road win for the Canes, I thought. Jarvis had himself a night on that Staal line, the first line won their matchup and Necas was popping too. When you're working hard in all three zones and your skill guys still find the space to show out, it makes you a tough out. Kochetkov looked more settled in his crease last night, which is reassuring. Really solid road showing all around.
