GDT: Canes @ Flyers 4/13 7:00

Great to win the East and to do so with the lineup we employed. I missed the first two periods but thought we looked very good overall - and Bussi played well, especially in the 3rd. We had many chances to win that game in regulation and OT, but I'm not complaining. Not sure what the team will look like in today's final game of the season, but we certainly haven't limped into the playoffs like we have in previous years.

I agree, I thought Bussi was pretty engaged and on his game all night long, he will certainly get some playoff time in even if he has to start game 1 on the bench in round one.

This will be more appropriate for tomorrow's GDT, but it would be nice if we can pick up at least one more point, as that will ensure that we finish ahead of Dallas for the second best record overall. If we make it to the Finals and by some miracle, the Avs do not, we would have home ice then, too.

Correcting myself here…as Andy correctly mentioned in today’s GDT, we need two points—not one—through a regulation win to ensure finishing second overall.

Bottom line … getting 5 points out these last three games with the lineups they’ve iced has been found money. They got first seed in the East, got some clarity on the goaltenders AND got key players some rest. Win/win/win
