The Canes try to right the ship against the equally disappointing Senators.

The team practiced yesterday, but aside from an update on Svech, there was no word on who was playing with whom. RBA might go back to Kochetkov tonight, we’ll see.

The Sens were expected to contend for a playoff spot this year and so far, no good. They’re last in the Atlantic with 22 points but have only played 22 games, the fewest in the league. By points percentage, they’re 6th. They’re 6-4 in their last 10 and coming off a win over Detroit on Saturday. Brady Tkachuk leads with 13 goals, Tim Stutzle has 20 assists. Stutzle and old man Claude Giroux average at least a point per game. Joonas Korpisalo has started 13 games in goal, he’s at 3.22/.903. He’s backed up by old friend Anton Forsberg, he’s at 3.03/.885. The Sens can score, 6th in the league at 3.50 goals per game. They’re 16th in goals against. With all that offense, their PP isn’t that good, 21st at 18.3%. The PK is worse, 28th at 74.3%

Bally Sports South for TV.

The Canes had a team only meeting at some point yesterday, so .... that's always good news. Also, the Senators' games have had an alarming tendency to devolve into chaos lately. So, that's also fun.

Svech is out “for at least a while”. Pesce missed practice yesterday due to illness, he skated today, pairings are unchanged. Kochetkov was first off the ice. Noesen draws in to Aho’s line.

Noesen - Aho - Jarvis
Teravainen - Kotkaniemi - Necas
Martinook - Staal - Fast
Bunting - Drury - Lemieux

Pesce is questionable tonight due to the illness that kept him out of practice yesterday. So if he can’t go, TDA draws in and the PP will score 5 goals tonight, right?

Hopefully Gleason will remember how much better things went when he used Orlov on that second pairing and keep DeAngelo stapled to Chatfield. I don't have high hopes however. Not sure what Orlov has done or not done, but he keeps getting the redheaded stepchild treatment this season.

I want to see them score more than 2 goals again...if they remember how. We'll see how much good the player's only meeting did.
LFG 'Canes! Act like you're being paid millions to play a game.
