I didn’t see the post game Brindy pep talk in the room to the boys yet online but I bet it was filled with goal horn bleeps to describe the grittiness and dig down deep mentality to squeeze two points out of that one last night. When you look at those Eastern Conference standings top to bottom that’s a huge extra two points to add to the bank.

They were talking about the standings in the ESPN studio last night. The Eastern Conference is going to be a dog fight for the rest of the year, pretty much with 3rd in the Atlantic and the wild card. The top 3 in the Metro are pulling away, the Devils are 7 points up on the Jackets and 8 over the Rangers but they each have 2 games in hand. Toronto and Florida have separated in the Atlantic with Tampa 6 points behind the Panthers with 2 games in hand. But they’re only 1 point ahead of Ottawa, Montreal and Boston but have games in hand on all of them. But in the wild card , Ottawa, Montreal and Boston all have 52 points, the Jackets have 51, the Rangers and Flyers 50. Boston and Philly have played 48 games, everyone else has played 47.
