Welcome back Teuvo Teravainen.

After a rousing win on Broadway the Canes return home to face the league’s 2nd worst team. We‘ll have to see who is at the morning skate; Roslovic missed the last game with an illness and there were reports that Aho missed the STM event last night with the flu. Taylor Hall gets to face the most recent of the 6 previous teams he’s played for. Kochetkov should get the start in goal but the team will celebrate Andersen’s 500th game. He’s the 84th goalie in NHL history to get to 500.

The Blackhawks have climbed out of the basement and have picked up 9 points in their last 10 games, including an OT loss to the Canes last Monday. They’re 3-4-3 in their last 10 and coming off a 4-1 win in Tampa on Tuesday night. Tyler Bertuzzi leads with 17 goals, he had one against the Canes last week. Connor Bedard has 30 assists. Teravainen is 2nd with 34 points, 16 have come on the PP. The Blackhawks have alternated goalies for the last few games, if that holds we’ll see Petr Mrazek again tonight. He’s at 3.26/.895. Chicago is 31st in goals per game, tied for 29th in goals against. Their PP is good, 9th in the league. The PK is 11th.

Black jerseys tonight. FanDuel for TV

Chicago's interim coach was bright enough to put Turbo and Bertuzzi back with Bedard on the first line. He had been dragging grinders like Jason Dickinson up and down the ice, and that alone is probably behind their improved results. They're still a hot mess, but at least they're not putting the lines together with a bingo ball selector anymore.

Oh, and having had one of the current flu strains myself, I can only hope that the boys limit contact and keep this this isolated to a few players. That thing was tough to shake.

Aho is not on the ice for the morning skate. Roslovic is there. Jost is skating but in a different jersey than the other forwards. It could be another 11/7 night. Kochetkov is in the starter’s crease.
