Connor Bedard makes his first appearance at PNC.

The Canes came away with 4 of 6 points on a short 3 game roadie through the Western Conference. Beating Arizona was expected, but the way the Canes locked down Vegas in the 3rd was a sight to see. We’ll see who is in the starter’s crease at the morning skate, but I would expect Kochetkov.

The Blackhawks stink. They have 33 points in 55 games, DFL in the league. Despite missing more than a month with a broken jaw, Connor Bedard leads with 36 points. Jason Dickinson leads with 17 goals, Philipp Kurashev has 22 assists. Old friend Petr Mrazek has been good in goal at 2.93/.911. The Blackhawks are DFL in goals per game at a paltry 2.04. They’re 28th in goals against. They’re also DFL on the PP at 12.2% and 25th on the PK.

Hopefully, attempting to keep Bedard from doing ridiculous things will be enough motivation to avoid Carolina's general apathy when playing bottom feeders. Chicago is, after all, a team that has all of three guys having even respectable seasons ... one of whom is a child.
 
Kind of tough for the 3rd game in 4 days to be a home game after flying back across the country from Vegas. That said, other than Bedard's high level skill, the Canes on paper will have the better matchups tonight for every shift and situation. Let's hope that the Canes play to that expectation tonight.
 
Freddie was in the starter's crease but PK wasn't feeling well so Martin with the start and PK holding the door

Appreciate the concern. I’m currently sitting in Minneapolis waiting for the flight home. The plane is already here and the pilots are on board so I don’t think we’ll have any delays. I caught a nap on the flight from Vegas and can grab another on the flight home. If all goes well, we land at 5:30 then a mad dash to the arena.

Orlov and Skjei swapped partners, so Orlov with Pesce and Skjei with TDA. Aho will line up against Bedard.
