GDT: Canes v. Bruins 10/31 7:00

He won't keep up the ridiculous 25% shooting so he'll want to mix in some assists on his Cy Young stat sheet, but early returns on Roslovic are pretty good, too bad we only got him on the 1 year for that 2.8.
Roslovic is traditionally a fast starter. He tends to fade badly by Thanksgiving, but this team is deep enough on wing that it won't kill them if his production dips.

One more thought on Boston ... I know it would seem reactionary to think about firing Montgomery at this stage, but I haven't seen that much defensive zone disorganization from a supposed playoff team in a long, long time. They are just a hot mess and the only guys playing the right way right now are the younger guys. That's usually a sign of a guy who's lost the room.

Great points JB, in all my years watching the Bruins I have never witnessed that team defense so uninterested in playing the right way, and when has a team had such an easy time getting to the net for two, three, four good looks like the Canes did last night. I was not kidding when I said the score easily could have been 12-2 Canes with the way they had their way with that Bruins D.

Monty would be the scapegoat if he quickly gets the axe right now, that does not seem like the issue at hand.

I mean ... on both Roslovic goals I'm 90% sure they had four guys at or below the goal like. Below the dots for dead sure. On KK's goal, the whole team appeared to shrug when he pulled his stick back to shoot. Anybody who can explain what the defenders were doing on Svech's rebound jam or Orlov's goal is better than me, because it defies description unless you just want to call it panic. Carlo was their only defender even vaguely interested in keeping his shape, and the poor sod had the bad luck to deflect one past his keeper. McAvoy was awful. Pinching at all the wrong times, mostly without conviction and more interested in jawing with Canes players than doing his job. H. Lindholm got into that act as well, which is maybe the first time I've seen that from the usually buttoned down Swede. He spent an entire shift jawboning Aho, which is just weird. Pasta is Pasta, but he can't do everything on his own and he's getting nothing from his linemates, and Marchand just seemed a bit lost. They are a molten hot mess.

The coach looks like he's lost his vets, and the vets look like they've lost their minds. Can't fire 6 expensive players, so ... Monty better get it fixed rapido.
