GDT: Canes v. Devils 1/25 7:30

We did play a hard game last night in the road. I suspect we are running out of gas.

This is exactly what I said last night as the 3rd period progressed. We were definitely out of gas and had very few good offensive possessions. But getting 2 points is all that matters. Nice to see the Moms participating in the Surge.

The Devils lost that game like the Hurricanes lose a lot of their games ... a soft early goal against and a couple of bang/bang goals later on, meanwhile you dominate offensive zone pressure and keep banging the puck into the other goalie's chest and/or pads. Oh, and they got nothing done on the power play. That's another standard feature of the frustration loss. It was awfully familiar.

Not a great effort by the Canes, but on the back end of a 2 game set you're looking for the W, not for style points.
