Cleanse last night or perpetuate the misery?

Last night was interesting. Two teams in a slump and the Canes blinked first. And second. A poorly directed rebound bounced off Henrique for a shorty. It was the inevitable result of one of the worst power plays of the season, and that’s saying something. Then a Chatfield turnover was compounded by losing track of Corey Perry and it was 2-0. The PP got one back, but Aho couldn’t convert a breakaway that would have tied it. The Canes had 20 turnovers and Edmonton had 24. But they converted their chances, the Canes didn’t. We should see Kochetkov in goal today.

The Flames lost to the Panthers yesterday, continuing their misery. Like the Canes, they’ve only won 4 of their last 10. They’re 1 point out of the 2nd Wild Card with 1 game in hand on Vancouver. Canes killer Jonathan Huberdeau leads with 22 goals, Nazem Kadri is right behind with 20. They have 5 other players with at least 10. MacKenzie Weegar has 26 assists. We’ll see starter Dustin Wolf in goal today, backup Dan Vladar played last night. Wolf is at 2.60/.913 in 35 starts. As a team the Flames don’t score, they’re tied for last at 2.56 goals per game. They’re 14th in goals against. Their PP is 18th, the PK is 28th.

Red jerseys today. FanDuel for TV.

Koochie with the high wire act today…couple that with the hijinks of Orlov, Burns and Ghost on D and you have the circus in town. Buckle up and get the popcorn ready. Flames don’t score they say…we have a way of changing things like that…😀
