GDT: Canes v. Kraken 10/26 7:00

I stand by my note that for large stretches, we just weren't creating any dangerous chances... lot of long range stuff straight into the goalie's logo, etc... But the possession game was improved, better attention to detail, more effective D zone coverage (bar a couple in the first period that went in, and a couple later where Seattle had a chance to put the game away and Freddie, or the pipe, said no). Necas was just on another level tonight, so give him the 2 points in the standings.

Progress. Let's build on it tomorrow night.
They tried to make Daccord look like George Vezina most of the night but agreed they were not creating much of anything dangerous offensively. Baby steps I guess but again too many Canes not on the same page with where their coach expects them to be.

Great finish to last night's game! I thought we looked shaky through most of the 1st, but got better as the game went along. The tying goal was a thing of beauty, with Skjei doing a tremendous job of muscling the puck up the ice and delivering it to Necas, who made a beautiful pass to KK, who one-timed into the net with a purpose. After that we saw for the first time this season the Canes we know and love - strong possession and relentless forechecking. And Necas' looked positively dominating in the OT (he was good all night) and his shot from the slot to end it was perfect.

BUT ON THE DOWNSIDE....getting out of the PNC was an absolute nightmare after the game. Where we park, it's normally an easy exit onto Wade Ave and we're out of the arena in 5 minutes tops. Last night we didn't even move from our parking space at all for 30+ minutes and our normal exit onto Wade Ave was blocked. I heard the Dave Chappell event the night before was even worse.

Was the Bally's telecast for anyone else glitchy again last night? Large portions of the game where it was fading in and out on Directv and I swear that network is being held together with duct tape and glue sometimes just to make it through games at this point...

Must have been a Directv issue-I was streaming on the app and it was pretty flawless.

I use directv stream and had no issues

The contractor working on the beltline project has started to slip VERY far behind schedule so they're starting to work on game nights. Wade Ave was one lane for a bit, which is absolutely mental after a game. If they let those idiots work Saturday for the State/Clemson game then some people might get home around Noon the following day.

Yeah, work in progress stuff last night. They certainly tightened some stuff up, but have a ways to go to get back on track.

We park in the East 2000 lot and it was indeed a nightmare. We had a dedicated lane onto Wade but they squeezed 3 lanes to 1 in short order. It didn’t open up until the other side of Blue Ridge.

I'm always Trinity Road Premier lot exit & headed West FTW. Hate it when I'm parked elsewhere for whatever reason and get routed East to Wade/Beltline on a normal night.... youch.

The East 2000 lot is normally a piece of cake, straight out to Wade and done. Before the never ending construction, the only watchout was whether the ramp to Blue Ridge was open. That got to be less frequent as the crowds expanded. But the East 1000 lot is nightmare fuel for all but premier passes. That lot has to go up Westchase to get back to Blue Ridge.

LOL...my go to parking spot is in the premier section of East 1000. I love it...we get funneled out to Westchase with no problem and then I make a left and a right to hop on to Wake and then catch the Beltline up to North Raleigh. I'm usually pulling into my garage less than 30 minutes after the final horn.

Yeah, it used to be great when I had premier. But for the playoffs, they use the old bus/media lot at the front of the East 1000 lot for overflow handicapped parking. It took us nearly an hour to get out of there one night.

Before construction on Wade, we could be home in less than 30 minutes, even if the ramp to Blue Ridge was closed. Last night was closer to 45 minutes.

One thing's for sure; all of our ingress/egress plans and stories are going to be vastly different once all this entertainment district stuff out there gets cranking.

Exactly. I use East General parking too and it took a full 45 minutes to get home for what used to be a 10 minute drive.
