GDT: Canes v. Kraken 12/3 7:00

The lack of leadership tonight was concerning…Necas tried but that was a sad team in almost every facet of the game.

This was an awful game to sit through in the arena. Never saw such a quiet crowd - especially after the anger about the overturned goal subsided. I was shocked to see such a poor performance from this team after two disastrous 3rd periods in the last two games. We were as bad as I've seen us in a long time. I thought Necas was the only player who looked good tonight.

Unfortunately, 3 games is a pattern.

Had I paid to see that live I'd be pretty livid, perhaps the most uninspired performance of the RBA era.

If there is a textbook definition of "lackluster" - that was it -- and yes I sat through the whole thing in person.

I have no idea what RBA was doing with the lines, but it appeared not to matter - no one could pass to each other -- seemed like every pass was intercepted.

Best to figure things out soon or this is going to get really tough.

And, oh yeah, the refs....

So hard to figure out Rod by just listening to his post game media scrum but you could tell below the surface last night he was very unhappy about the effort. Might be a tuff skate today.

at least he kind of admitted last night that just mixing the lines isn't necessarily a viable solution. I think Ryan Henkel had the quote.

100% agree on all accounts. Of all the games I ever sat through in recent memory in that building this one ranked as one of the worst by far, uninspired, disinterested, completely out of sorts in just about everything, hardly a hit thrown by the Canes all night long, give up a goal 19 seconds in, the lines were a joke and I thought Rod had no clue what he was doing mixing and matching that clusterfuck...the Staal/Martinook/Carrier line has been great all year and last night was a game you simply needed a line like that to get things going.

Colorado will likely come in next and exploit the shit defensive coverage and goaltending the Canes have trotted out the past few games.

Look ... when you've got maybe three forwards giving an adequately effective effort then yeah, it's pretty pointless to mix and match all that muchh. He just re-trenched with some lines they'd been using and rolled them out hoping they'd find their legs. It kinda worked to a degree, as they did play much better in the first 10-12 minutes of the third, but when you play that badly for that long you don't deserve anything more than what they got. It Seattle was any good at all, it would have been well out of reach by that point anyway

Well, don't look now but the Avs have also been playing like crap since Thanksgiving. It could be another awful game unless one or the other of them snaps out of it
