GDT: Canes v. Oilers 3/1 7:00

I still struggle to wrap my head around Rantanen wanting to be one of the top highest paid players in the league. I definitely did not watch enough Avalanche games to be impressed by him.
 
Tripp is such a gaslighter: “this was a very good hockey game.” I might not have been in the stands, but I do know it was not a very good game and I know Russia did invade Ukraine.

It’s not a fun time to be GMET…I’m just glad I don’t have to make these types of decisions because boy oh boy 96 sure is a tough nut to crack since he has got here. A lot to unpack and dissect for sure.
 
I sort of remember the pre-season talk of "Yeah, but who's going to score?" seems to be holding true. Terrible time of year to sputter and barf up points. Jarvis was a threat. Wondering where scoring KK, Marty, Burns, Svech, & Ghost ever got to? Can we dust off E. Staal for another retirement ceremony so Bro can light it up again? I only ask because I care.

still a lot to fix before the deadline, is there time and are the pieces even out there. We haven't even replaced Jack Drury yet. That should be easy enough, but KK is clearly not capable.
 
It's unusual for me to say this, but KK is the least is the least of my worries right now. Our first period play collectively was as disjointed as it has been - even against a team that was not all that good last night. I'm also getting tired of saying the same thing about our woeful PP - sure we got a late one, but we had difficulty even setting up in the zone for the first two. Throughout the game, we had multiple chances to score and came up empty. And don't get me started about Orlov.
 
The first game I ever saw Orlov he was skiing around his own end looking bewildered and TDA( I think it was him) was trying to point to where he was supposed to go or who he was supposed to be covering. Orlov hasn’t changed.
 
Another couple weeks of this “Hurricane Hockey” and you’ll likely be in 9th…what a freefall after that great start.
