GDT: Canes v. Pens 1/14 7:00

If I was the Director of Officiating of that cast of misfits that butcher game’s nightly I’d fire myself for being terrible at my job. How is that acceptable???
It helped the Pens? They along with NYR Tampa and Boston always seem to get a lot of favorable calls one way vs us..

FYP. See the non-offside call on ManU today.
By the absolute letter of the law, VAR got it right. But if you think Rashford running next to the ball for 10 yards wasn’t distracting to the keeper, you’re wrong. Tim Howard was right, that shouldn't have counted, the assistant got it right.

Other than Freddie's fiasco goal against, I thought he and the Canes put together a really great performance last night. We controlled the flow of the game for 2 periods and hung on to preserve the win in the 3rd. My favorite moment was the partial kill of 5 on 3 to end the 2nd. Our PK was absolutely awesome last night. My 2nd favorite moment was Aho's sweet pass and Chat's laser shot for the game winning goal. My 3rd favorite moment was keeping the many Pens fans quiet most of the night.

My least favorite moment? Awful officiating that was as one-sided as I've seen lately. Let's win again today!

We had a family of 4 2 seats over from us. The guys in the 2 seats next to us are habitually late and the Pens family moved one seat closer to me. The guys next to us eventually arrived and told the Pens family they had to move. After some minor grumbling they finally did. At the end of the game, they tried to get out past me, but I was too busy sweeping the floor during the Skol clap. They gave me a dirty look and walked out the other end.

RPD had a hand in that  (y)

Yeah, a few of the Happy Feet crew was drunk and looking for trouble early in proceedings. They were trying to gate crash the scrum behind Willie and Hanna in the first intermission and security got involved. From there, it's no great leap of logic to things getting more boozy and more aggravating to their neighbors in the stands.

In my area, most of them behaved themselves despite being constantly bombarded with verbal nonsense from a particularly unhinged Canes fan. Good on them. One of the Pens guys eventually snapped, but IMO he had the patience of Job to make it until the Pens pulled their goalie to react.
