Possession is king, Pens never touched the puck.
Crosby also got roasted in the circle. He was 8-16 for the night, 2-5 against Staal and 3-9 against Aho.
Meh ... good to get the W, but that was mostly a matchup win. Pittsburgh is just too slow across the lineup to matchup with Carolina and it really, really burned them in transition. But hey, any win with your last chance saloon goalie in the net feels huge.
And look, I'm in no position to give Brind'Amour instructions but Svech has been driving chances everytime he plays on Staal's line and I think they really need to let Aho's line settle into a groove. Maybe keep Carrier on the 4th line when he gets back, let Necas drive his line on his own and see if Svech can get some momentum on the 3rd line.

If he'll stick to distributing the way he has the last couple of games, it'll continue to help him keep momentum. Aho's way more dangerous at even strength when he's looking to set up others. Then his shots come from the space that opens up. He's just such a focus of opposing checking that the can opens easier that way.
