GDT: Canes v. Preds 3/25 7:00

Games like that are maddening to be at. If the Canes got any goaltending whatsoever it’s 5-1 Canes tonight. I’ve had it waiting for Koochie to pull his head out of his ass too many nights, the brain farts are endless and that first goal changes that entire game. That guy is too flaky to be trusted in the playoffs, you never know what you’re going to get.
I’m with ya. Kinda feel we’re stuck…again… with basically hoping Freddie can stay healthy for the playoffs and maybe plugging in Pyotr on the rare occasion. Neither are great options. Numbers be damned, the dude just doesn’t pass the eye test for me.

Although I've given up on either goalie being what we need for the future, we'll just have to hope they play well enough for the rest of the season. Pyotr's first goal changed the entire dynamic of the game - we looked awesome on the first PK only to have PK mishandle the puck. Saros was very, very good, but we missed on so many high-danger opportunities that should have resulted in a victory.

To be fair, with our lack of finishing last night it would have been 2-1 Preds with good goaltending. :p

So many chances, so little finish.
Yeah. Saros was REAL good last night and it was obvious by the way he was zipping across the crease in the early stages that he had his A game last night. Kooch on the other hand seemed to have trouble tracking the puck all night. That was maybe his C game. Even then, the Canes HAVE to be sharper in front of the net. Blake, Jarvis, Stankoven and Kotkaniemi all had at least one point blank look (more like 3 or 4 for Stankoven) that they either fumbled or didn't get a clean shot out of. At least one of those HAS to drop even if the goalie is standing on his head.

Still, it's not like they played poorly or anything. I've paid money to watch WAY worse efforts.
