GDT: Canes v. Stars 11/25 7:00

Definitely not the way the Canes want to play, but again it's nice to know we have that ability to score goals in bunches.

Now tighten it up a bit and let's keep the Rangers and their fans feeling like their season is teetering on the brink of disaster on Wednesday night.

The third was very enjoyable To watch.
they gave Martin his chance the first 2 periods then said the heck with it and scored big.

The Ghost needs to just shoot the puck on the power play as often as possible, the dude has a great shot and when they allow him to set up shop in the slot he needs to just go "bombs away". He is so mobile and shifty that if you put it on a tee for him he's going to bury it most of the time.

After an eye-stabbing first two periods, the Canes finally awoke - much to the delight of the fans in the arena. After our second goal, you could just feel the tide turning, and one of the most electric moments was one in which we didn't even score - but kept the puck in the Dallas zone for what seemed to be forever. The crowd was on its feet and going crazy. Martin wasn't good, but our team defense didn't do him any favors for much of the game. Would love to know what was said in the locker room, but that was a different team in the 3rd. Left the arena on cloud 9!!

It seems to me that he’s able to get his shot off with very little space. It doesn’t get blocked by the first defender, he’s able to get it deeper than Burns or Skjei did last year. Even if it gets blocked by the second defender, there are more opportunities to retrieve the puck in the zone than having to regroup in the neutral zone.

Martin was a mixed bag last night. The 4th goal he probably would want back. Screened by Burns but not aggressive about trying to see the puck. The rest of them IMHO were breakdowns on defense. They had way too many breakaways where they split our defense and left Martin alone. Dude actually made a number of clutch saves.

Neither goalie was particularly good, although they both had good stops mixed in with the dreck. Combined they allowed 4-plus goals over expected. It makes for a sloppy game, but it was fun to watch. And both teams let a bunch of rush chances sort of pop up out of the blue. It was never a game either coach probably felt comfortable with at any point.

I wasn't where the game could be viewed and went to bed with the 'Canes trailing & figured it might be a tough row to hoe. I thought the pinned score on my phone was wrong this morning...Pleasant surprise! Welcome back Jarvy!
