After a win in Arizona, the Canes head north to face the Golden Knights.
Martinook got things started 16 seconds in and the Canes rolled to a 5-1 win over the Yotes. Chatfield, Jarvis, Turbo and Bunting had the others and Drury and Necas each had 2 assists. Kochetkov had 30 saves. RBA spread the ice time among the forwards, only Aho and Fast played more than 16 minutes. But the D weren’t as lucky, all but Chatfield and Orlov played at least 20. Martin will go in net tonight for just his 2nd start as a Cane.
The Knights are 2nd in the Pacific with 68 points in 53 games. They’re 7-2-1 in their last 10 but coming off a loss to the Wild on Monday. They’ve had a few injuries up front, the lines at practice had Nic Roy centering their top line. Jack Eichel has been out since mid-January, William Carrier has been out since early January. Jonathan Marchessault leads with 27 goals, Mark Stone has 36 assists and is averaging nearly a point per game. In goal, Adin Hill leads the league in GAA and Save % at 2.00/.933. But his last 2 games weren’t great, he gave up 4 to the Wild on 28 shots and 2 on 22 shots to the Yotes. Vegas is 14th in goals per game and are 7th in goals against. They’re 19th on the PP, 15th on the PK.
