I don't care, if it minds that we settle once and for all that he plays center. At least now, we have our #1 center and can concentrate on getting another.

No one will blame MB if he fails to lure Stamkos, but he will receive over the board applauds if he's successful - perhaps rightfully so.

The only chance MB has IMO, is to acquire Stamkos' rights prior to July 1st and offer up an 8-yr deal that no one except TBay (at present) can match on the open market - should Stevie Y be willing to trade his rights...

I would hope that you are right on that first comment.

Very good point on the advantage of acquiring Stamkos' rights for that 8th year.

That. Sacrificing a spot or two in the draft is well worth it if the cost is 27 becoming our legit. no. 1 center.

Had to trade for him at the deadline if you wanted him to have an 8 year deal.
 
I just worry that 70 point stamkos is going to get paid like he is 90 point stamkos.

MB needs to find 70 point production at half of what stamkos will get.

I assume a sign & trade deal would still be applicable? Sign 8-yr deal with TBay who in turn agree to trade him to a desired location?
 
yesterday's game was very entertaining to watch live....just to see how Dallas forwards skate around and pass the puck between themselves.

Too bad their overall defense isn't good enough to help the transition game.

Benn is a beast....so big, so strong....and still young. Damn they have a killer duo in Dallas. They are 3rd in the conference, but I can't see them beating Ducks-Hawks-Kings. They would lose in 5-6....
 
Wonder how much being snubbed by Team North America, provided that extra motivation for Galchenyuk also...

Thats my scenario with Stammer . He and Meehan will find a group of lets say 4 teams willing to trade for him and TB makes it happen .Cap is going nowhere so teams would like to
shed some payroll in the process . Even if you can sign him outright giving up 15% + of your cap leaves most teams with no flexibility after one transaction.

Getting more teams involved may allow Drouin to be part of a larger hockey trade as well.
 
Frank Gagnon asked MT if you regret to not giving Chucky much playing time early in season, he said no, playing time is by merit lol, what a surprise, ha? No coincidence since DD is out Chucky playing better, because he is much more., 9 goals in his last 10.
