The Latest: The Pacific Division-leading Anaheim Ducks (34-14-7, 75 pts.) wrap up a five-game road trip vs. the Carolina Hurricanes Thursday night at PNC Arena (4 p.m. PST, Prime Ticket/AM 830). Ranked second among NHL teams in standings points, the Ducks have gone 8-4-1 in their last 13 games and 12-6-2 in the last 20. The Ducks rank second in the NHL with 23 wins in one-goal games (23-0-7) and are the only NHL team without a regulation loss in a game decided by one goal. When scoring first, the club co-leads in wins (25-1-6) and is one of three NHL teams with only one regulation loss in such situations. In addition, the Ducks (17-0-3, .850, sixth) are the only club without a regulation loss when leading after one and join Montreal as the two teams without a regulation loss when tied after two (6-0-5, .733, fourth). On special teams, the club is 12-for-43 (27.9%) on the power play and 44-for-51 in penalty kills (86.2%) since Jan. 7. Five of Anaheim's next seven games will be played at Honda Center, beginning Sunday, Feb. 15 vs. Washington (5 p.m. PST). The Ducks will also host Tampa Bay as part of the brief two-game homestand on Wednesday, Feb. 18 (7 p.m. PST).

Ducks-Hurricanes: Anaheim and Carolina will conclude a two-game season series that began 10 days ago with a 5-4 Ducks win on Feb. 3 at Honda Center. That night, Ryan Getzlaf tied a franchise record with his sixth career OT goal 45 seconds into the extra frame, his first since Nov. 22, 2013 vs. Tampa Bay. Corey Perry, who had a game-high three points (2g/1a) for his 46th career multi-goal game, paces current Ducks skaters in career scoring vs. the Hurricanes with 13 points (7g/6a) in 10 games. The Ducks are 14-12-3 vs. the Hurricanes all-time and 5-7-2 on the road.

Ducks team scope: Defenseman Hampus Lindholm (lower-body injury) and right wing Jakob Silfverberg (flu) participated during practice Wednesday in Raleigh. Lindholm, who has missed one game, “took a step forward,” and wants to see how he responds in the morning. Silfverberg has missed one game. Anaheim has won twice in its past seven games (2-4-1) and has allowed 11 goals in its past two games, both regulation losses. Defenseman Ben Lovejoy, who has been a healthy scratch in two of the past three games, was minus-3 in a 6-2 loss Tuesday to the Florida Panthers. Goalie John Gibson, recalled from Norfolk of the American Hockey League, stopped 15 of 18 shots in 34 minutes of relief of goalie Ilya Bryzgalov Tuesday. It was Gibson’s first NHL action since Oct. 30. The Ducks are 15-8-4 on the road, 11-7-2 against the Eastern Conference and 5-2-2 against the Metropolitan Division this season. Right wing Kyle Palmieri ended a five-game goalless streak Tuesday. The Ducks have scored a power-play goal in three consecutive games. After allowing one power-play goal in a five-game span, the Ducks allowed three on eight chances Tuesday.

Hurricanes team scope: Carolina placed defenseman Ryan Murphy (leg) on injured reserve Tuesday. Murphy is expected to miss four weeks. Carolina has lost once in regulation in its past eight games (5-1-2). The Hurricanes ended a streak of three consecutive games without a power-play goal in a 5-4 win against the San Jose Sharks Feb. 7. The Hurricanes are 1-for-14 in their past four games with the man advantage. Coming off a three-assist game, defenseman Justin Faulk has eight points in his past eight games (three goals, five assists). Carolina is 11-9-3 at home, 8-10-3 against the Western Conference and 5-6-1 against the Pacific Division this season. Goalie Cam Ward has won his past two games, stopping 51 of the past 56 shots he has faced. Defenseman Andrej Sekera has one goal and two assists in his past three games.
