Let’s see if there is any pushback in this team. To a man, they said they should have responded to Tkachuk’s douchebaggery. Will they?

RBA said that Chatfield and Walker are probably doubtful. They’re skating at 11:39 so we’ll see.

Mo said that Greer and Mikkola should be OK. They’ll see about Reinhart at their skate.

TNT for TV.

If you watch the entire shift and the predatory action of Tkachuk to not show a single ounce of intent to play hockey but simply stalk, slash and then jump Aho to pummel your so called best player and every Canes player is ok with that then you have a problem. Let’s remember this garage league deemed that entire “play” to be only a minor penalty…so why did the rest of the Canes have no response…nothing whatsoever in terms of an answer from the Canes on that play in terms of recourse can’t happen, it’s not like they threw that POS out of the game…this series is done, at least tonight show some fight, cross check that prick at every turn, run the guy, do all the shit he does x 10, make a mockery of the game like he gets away with, at least get your money’s worth!

Hit Tkachuk every chance. Hit him after the whistles. Get in his grill. So instead the canes will maybe look in his general direction

The lines at the skate. Maybe Hall will keep Tkachuk from taking liberties. Andersen in the starter’s crease.

Probably won't even watch it tonight. The last 3 games have soured my hopes so much that I'd rather just check the score now and then. Most of us know that the Canes perhaps overachieved after losing so many players to start the season - but once you get to the final 4 you do expect to see more fight and competitive play - so that's what really disappointed me.

Reinhart, Mikkola and Greer are all out for the Panthers.
So, Boqvist stays in for Reinhart, Balinskis subs in for Mikkola and either Samoskevich or Sturm for Greer. Not much of a change on the 4th line, really. Mikkola has been good, so that's a downgrade. Boqvist for their best scorer would be a problem except for the fact that he turns into Rocket Richard every time he plays against the Canes. The way this is going, Mo would be a fool to push it with any of his guys' health.

For Carolina, I assume those lines are a see how it goes sort of proposition. You're kind of stuck with the D pairings for practicality's sake, but everything will probably be blender city.

I hope for an end to the misery tonight. No need to bring the handshake line to Raleigh.

In a weak division, the Canes were able to overachieve. I’m ready for GMET, Dundon and the rest of the Hurricanes’ brain trust to get to work.

Pulling for Edmonton— I want to see some real and gifted talent get their names on the cup— McDavid and Draisitl.

A win would be huge for them - purely from a self respect and team standpoint. Win one tonight.

I'm torn; would love to knock that ugly 0 off the streak everyone is talking about but don't want to pay over a G just to watch handshakes on Wednesday night, so win 2, boys, or just end the pain.. Go Canes!

Saturday night I was at Carolina Beach w/ friends and checked in on NHL.com until the WTF third.

Tonight, I think I'll finish binge watching LotR w/ my daughter, who we move to Richmond tomorrow. That watch is a guaranteed win for the good guys.

I was at my daughter’s rehearsal dinner in Wilmington on Saturday. There was a watch party at a bar a block from our hotel and I got there near the end of the 2nd intermission. Sat down with my Canes tailgate friends, got a beer and watched the Panthers first 3 goals in the 3rd. Left the bar and walked back to the hotel to hang out with my family so I missed the last 2 Panthers goals in the time it took to walk back.

Great post and a great summary on how I feel as well. Definitely no need to have to put the lame dog down at home when you can do it at the vet clinic.

Agree totally - I am torn.

My problem with the ending of this season is that the narrative will be "Canes 0-16 in ECF" - which is true but really spread over 16 years -- so totally different teams with different players/coaches (mostly). That is all anyone will think or talk about - any maybe rightly so, because the team does need to get bigger and nastier to compete at this level. I hope the management/ownership comes to understand that and look to the future.

BUT -- I keep going back to last summer, when we lost 1/3 of our defense and a few up front and replaced with 'spare parts'. Many of us were wondering if this team could even make the playoffs as constructed - and here they are. So while this one is going to hurt as a fan -- and I really hope the management feels that as well - I am going to try to choose to celebrate the success they had this season with a team backloaded with spare parts. I do feel for Burns and Staal because I feel like this might have been their swan song -- but who knows the future....

I also will pull for Edmonton -- I hope they have learned from their experience last year and can pull that forward.
