How that team is even sniffing at a wild card spot is beyond me. Their metrics should have them fighting for a top five pick. If they don't go on a deep slide down the stretch, the propeller heads will need to recalibrate their numbers.

Shite. Definitely a bad time for Marner to get injured, with the Panthers & Bruins charging hard behind us, and the Sens still keeping their pace. It's also the most compacted part of our schedule, so even if he only misses a week or two, that'll be a lot of games.

Time for Willie, Auston, the vets and some of our other young guys to step up. Brown & Hyman in particular have been pretty cold lately. And this is a golden chance Leivo to prove that he deserves to stick in the lineup.
 
If Leivo can keep up the excellent play, that will really help to offset the Marner loss. But they really need to have guys like JVR, Kadri, Nylander and Matthews step up. Good thing is there's still lots of fire power in the lineup even with the top scorer sidelined.

I absolutely love Pat Quinn, but sorry---a six year run of success and two trips to the semi-finals isn't deserving of a statue in front of the building.

Kadri has been maybe our best and most consistent player in 2017. Willy has also been pretty steady thru the new year, he settled in really nicely on Naz' wing. Agreed about JVR and Matthews though.

Oh, I wasn't suggesting that any of them are laggards, although it can be true with JVR.
