and then after that game they have to fly to calgary for the thursday gameDragging this morning. Don't think I'll be staying up for the whole game tomorrow. 11p start, what a crock.

and the third period was the only one we did not control the playYeah my post had nothing to do with OT... I was mostly happy with the OT usage, especially the three forwards.
But the minutes were distributed nicely in the first two periods then our worst pair played half the third. Recipe for disaster.
when you have no offense in your game you better not be playing "defense" like that in the final min of a one goal game with the net emptyWe should still be able to win those type of games. Canucks barely had any chances in the 3rd, Chiarot simply needed to be more aware, which wasn't that hard.

The breakdown in the play was not Chiarot, it was Anderson not picking up his man (Horvat) and being caught in no mans land on the wrong side of Center ice. The Athletic breaks down the play:We should still be able to win those type of games. Canucks barely had any chances in the 3rd, Chiarot simply needed to be more aware, which wasn't that hard.
There is blame on both. Anderson didn't pressure accordingly but that doesn't change the fact that Audette was left all alone. Audette wasn't Anderson man, Chiarot had to react accordingly. The breakdown in the play was not Chiarot, it was Anderson not picking up his man (Horvat) and being caught in no mans land on the wrong side of Center ice. Canadiens aren’t getting results, but Carey Price may change that soon
In the big picture, the goalie playing the way he played, looking the way he looked, is the most encouraging sign for the Canadiens.theathletic.com
Team has zero margin of error in the playoffsI agree, a team challenged for offensive firepower can't afford to play poor defense.
Team has zero margin of error in the playoffs
Need balanced scoring , efficient team D , and the " play in " Price
How good would Markov look in this lineup? Even the 37 year old version. The difference he would make. It’s becoming very clear (and many would say has been for years), MBs #1 priority has got to be finding a 1st pairing LDman
They were clearly tired. Feet weren't moving.and the third period was the only one we did not control the play
That's another thing, the net was empty and they should have pushed harder for sure. I think they'll get some rest today and take tomorrow's game. Question is Price or Allen tomorrow? I'd go with Price again and Allen in Calgary.when you have no offense in your game you better not be playing "defense" like that in the final min of a one goal game with the net empty
The Habs best shootout players are Tatar, Byron, Drouin, and Perry - all in the 30-40% success rate. Why Perry wasn’t one of the 3-shooters I still don’t understand, he’s got perhaps the most elite hands on the teamI’d give KK a shot in the shootout. He has sneaky hands and a great shot with all the time to get it off in the shootout
I’d start Allen - Price needs to start both games vs Cgy IMO to solidify separation from Flames. That's another thing, the net was empty and they should have pushed harder for sure. And take off the equipment to play 3-on-3I would let Price shoot next time
