Back in the day, the Marlies were an OHL team so they were the enemy. But they weren't in our division so Peterborough was the real enemy. The Petes, the Belleville Bulls, and the 67's were the unholy triumvirate for Generals fans. The Marlies were a non divisional opponent and they were shit anyway.

It's less distinct now. Used to be a blue collar union town, a solid NDP riding both federally and provincially. Now it's just a bedroom community for people who commute to Toronto to work and it's now part of Ford Nation. Everyone else is just an out of work blue collar type.

The guy who now owns the Generals is an asshat who is forever threatening to relocate even though the arena is only about 17 years old.
