Yup , just win them allAbsolutely. But when a guy like Suzuki loses slightly more than half his faceoffs it doesn't matter whether he's a right or left hand shot. A lost faceoff is a loss of possession.
Making him draw on his offside will do that. I'd like to see a breakdown of his wins and losses by area of ice. Can't seem to find one.Absolutely. I don’t know on avg what % of faceoffs in a game are in neutral zone vs O or Dzone - I’m assuming 50%+ are somewhere in neutral zone. You'll never convince me they're not important when puck possession is very important. Chasing the puck to regain possession wastes time and energy. I'll take a faceoff win over a faceoff loss every time. You can script plays off wins, you can't off losses.
You also have to realize that taking a draw on your off side is more difficult because you're not trying to win it to the center of the ice in the D zone, you're actually trying to prevent it. So a RH center in the left dot will lose more than win because of this. It's like some people don't really understand the nuances of the game.I don’t know on avg what % of faceoffs in a game are in neutral zone vs O or Dzone - I’m assuming 50%+ are somewhere in neutral zone.
I buy the argument neutral zone faceoffs wins vs losses, don’t really have much if any impact, however, Ozone & Dzone faceoffs do especially at critical junctures of a game - special teams, late period / game situations etc

Bro, that's a very deep dive. Impress. I saw thatNHL.com has the breakdowns for OZ/NZ/DZ and EV/PP/PK but not on which side of the ice.
Definitively shows more OZ/DZ faceoffs than NZ.NHL.com has the breakdowns for OZ/NZ/DZ and EV/PP/PK but not on which side of the ice.
