GDT: Game 43 | Canadiens vs. Wild | Jan 12, 2016

How many 10-ft and under lose puck / rebound SOG did the team have in the 1st period? Answer: Zero.

Against a big & very solid 3-pairing D and big goalie like Dubnyk have to generate chances in the paint and pounce on rebounds to score - like Minny's first & fourth goals. This is where the Habs weakness becomes glaring, even when Galchenyuk returns Plekanec remains a liability in the playoffs due to lack of thrust down the middle.

Yup and that's why winning the division most likely gives a big wild card team to face in round 1 , a tough matchup from the get go .

We had a good first sal. Failed to score. This is moment u need ur elitw goalie to make key saves. He didn't . We sucked in second and game is over now.

No the Habs didn't, if u don't generate opportunities in the paint u haven't done squat. Ur elite goalie can only keep it 0-0

The problem is Price has nailed this team out so much in the past that people come to expect it so when he doesn't they blame him. Price is not playing like he did two seasons ago but it's not logical to expect him to. He needs defensive help.

Markov back will help... it moves everyone behind him down a spot and gets easier matchups.

Sure the shots against arent huge, but the chances they are giving up are grade A. We've had one grade A chance (Byron's Breakaway), they are allowed to get a breakaway, stand in front of the net with time, cruise through the slot, etc....

McCarron has our only chance anywhere near the net and he swiped it through the crease wide.

edit: Forgot about Byron's breakaway.

Right now it would be the Rangers.

We'll see it on Saturday.

I've been saying the Rangers are one of the most overrated teams in the NHL.

Price is not playing like he did to start the season. I'm sure he will figure it out before the playoffs start but until then I blame Angela and the newborn for his drop in play.

Question is this just a blip for 31 or did we possibly see the best of him a few years back . I know we have injuries but it's been about 5 weeks now where he hasn't been the old 31.

More concerning are the areas he's being scored on - they all seem to be going high blocker/short side or low glove side on rebound opportunities. Scouts have found a chink in the armor...unless of course there's an injury at play here.
