i must say I was pleasantly surprised by the sight lines in the nosebleeds, 4 rows from the top.I think the view was actually better than the high seats in the old forum.Steeper angle to the ice maybe.
Fun game, but I knew we were in trouble when I saw the Blue uniforms. Also nice if Allen would have made the odd save.....Nice to ride the old Metro again,and just breathe the crisp air of the old town. Gotta go,trying to type on a friggin phone.

You only get high picks taking back bad contracts in an environment like this.
 
And that's the point.

I don't think we're going to be good next season, regardless of who we get in the draft. I don't think we're going to be good either the following year, regardless of who we take in the 2024 draft. And by that time, Peterson's contract as the league's most expensive backup will be up.

This organization has a real opportunity to speed things up by using their free cap space this summer to absorb bad contracts. Call San Jose, see what they're willing to give up for Vlasic. Call Dallas, see what they're willing to give up for Seguin. Call Carolina, see what they're willing to give up for Kotkaniemi, in the most hilarious of plot twists. :)

Get the firsts & seconds, draft more players, hope that they hit.

Good points but those picks are still 3+ years away
 
5M in cap space for 2 years for a guy that can’t play in the league anymore is a huge deal. Has to be more than a 1st round pick.
 
Oh, I want him to play in the league. I want to keep being bad for at least one or two more seasons.

This team is still very, very far away from being good. We've got Suzuki, Caufield, Dach & Guhle as the young & established core for now, but we're still missing a lot of pieces. Hopefully Slaf shows something next season and maybe one of Xhekaj, Harris or maybe even Barron shows great improvement by next year's training camp.

Two more drafts of picking high & picking often in the first & second, and we're going to be ready for liftoff. We really, really need a franchise, #1 center or a franchise, #1 d-man. Ideally both, but...
