Another quality win. No issues between the pipes now. And if Fowler pans out we won't need to waste any high draft picks on goalie for a while.
 
It’s tracking that way, but there will still be some issues with depth and young D. Really need Dach to stay healthy and add at least one top six.

Eastern conference wildcard spots are looking a little mushy, so they might be in the race for one of those next year if things come together. But it could go pear shaped as well.

Next year is the same as this year , season depends on internal growth and development

Yep, we need another top 5-10 pick next year too, combined with some Dach level trades. At that point we become a playoff team that can shop strategically for UFA's to put us over the top.
 
Not so sure about that. The way I see it is that there aren't always players like Dach available and he has turned into Mr. Glass. Newhook is serviceable but not a prize. I don't think many teams will be offering top line players except maybe for Zegras and that's a huge question mark.

Sure you can find more Newhooks but honestly? We should be able to get that caliber from our prospects.

They will look for one sure but barring something out of norm I suspect the picks will be used.

Getting back to zegras, I can see Hughes waiting for nobody to trade for him then offering up the Winnipeg pick. It's the only way he'll get a Zegras that cheaply.

Dach , Newhook and Roy need to up their game a few notches and Dach has one more year to prove he isnt a bust

Slaf is a beast in the making , can he get to 70 points next year

Cole , hope he turns into a 30 goal player every year

As for the D I see any 2 of Harris , Barron and Struble gone in the summer

I dont see a huge market for Zegras

Verbeek to happily move Drysdale and Zegras on a young team with good talent should open eyes why go after them

Sometimes a player needs a change but Zegras is not a player I give up a ton to get

Of those 3 I'd keep Struble. Although I don't mind Harris, Struble plays mean, and that's an element this team needs more of. Barron is Barron.
