Matheson is a good dman... but if he's on the ice for 31 minutes, he's going to make some mistakes.
The team looked gassed most of the game. Rightfully with the travel and 5 in 8.
The schedule is brutal this late in the season. Never seen this. The NHL must do a better job of containing travel late in the year when we have Olympics / 4 nations type of break. Next year we have an Olympics year.

Yeah, Matheson and Monty are both decent but are given Lidstrom/Brodeur like levels of playing time nowadays so it tires them out and exposes their weaknesses.

Exactly! Like I used to say about PK. You can't play that many minutes and make that many nice plays without making some mistakes.
It's a crime that we didn't end up drafting Cole, his brother. We're going to be one of the 31 teams that are going to regret that.
