Watching the game in person, I could not believe that their defensive play in their own end is even WORSE than it appears on tv. Soft is an understatement for that defensive core in front of their own net. Hutson can help them get the puck out of their own end, but will be no help clearing the front of the net. Underwhelmed by Slafkovsky’s game in person, looks much better on tv, hopefully just an off night. Multiple pieces needed to make this team a contender including new special team coaches.

One year left on his contract. When he lays like this, he’s an asset. I think we can find a team to take a flyer on him, but I also think management might be fine keeping him around. We’re really thin upfront and he’s been arguably our 4th best forward in the second half of the season.

I dont see any of our UFA vets coming back in the next year or so
