Crosschecks to the face were penalties in any era of hockey. Now, somehow, refs don't see them. But they insist on calling minor, insignificant stuff like trips when a player falls over another guy's stick.

I really don't understand what's happened. I don't think that kind of direction is coming from the league. Only thing I can put it down to is that refs are more stupid than before.

But whenever the Habs faced a team with goaltending almost as good, they'd lose because Price was literally the only thing they had going for them. Make that a wash and the Habs were cooked.
