WeHaveMoreCupsThanYou
I will get banned again soon, worry not.
No player, no matter how successful, can be considered truly elite without at least one championship. That's why Ernie Banks, who never played in a World Series, isn't as famous or well regarded as Willie Mays, who did win a World Series, or why Bruce Smith, who played in 4 Superbowls, isn't considered as good as Mean Joe Greene, who won 4 Superbowls. Not at all (but I'm flattered you used my line) because Wehave judges players he hates solely by championships won
On talent alone, Suzuki is a better, more talented centre than Brian Skrudland, but Skrudland has a ring, which means from a fan's perspective, he achieved more than Suzuki has. Fans don't, nor should they, give a shit about a player's personal stats. Fans should only ever concern themselves with team stats and team accomplishments. We only have parades and hang banners for Cup wins, nothing else. We won't be hanging a banner for Hutson winning the Calder and we won't be having a parade to celebrate Demidov's first NHL goal.
And we are not retiring Price's number based on his zero Cups won.
