GDT Game Three 07/05/23.... A For Real, No Shit, Must Win Game

Warning signs were there. 14th in xgf% post deadline. They intentionally made themselves worse because they thought that the qualities that they brought in were "winning" qualities. They got slower and way less skilled. And we certainly noticed it. They couldn't complete a pass and any semblance of speed gave them fits defensively.

Yes ultimately the heat has to be on the big boys of course, but the change in organizational direction was maddening.
 
Very discouraging. Another year gone and not a bit closer. Maybe further away.

Oh well, it's just a game. Nothing about it makes any difference in my daily life.
 
I mean umltinabtely it’s Tough to blame anybody but the 4 fwds. The collective baby back shit in the playoffs isn’t doobs or queefs fault.
 
Ya they were going nowhere regardless with them playing like that. But Kyle did make the team worse and drift further and further from his vision every year. They were not a great team this year, particularly the final product. They just weren't.
 
Eh, I struggle to blame the big 2 because we can't win whenever they're not carrying us. A standard no good team in the league should expect from its best 2 players...thats Edmonton level shit.

Tavares is a waste of 11 million though and I love Willy but if we're talking about someone who doesn't do the little things...well, it runs in his family, his old man was the same.

It's so, so fucking hard to get talents like Matthews and Marner, I think you need to consider a hard reshuffle around them long before moving them.
 
That said the ot winner - queefs got to own that. They came out unprepared, disorganized and unmotivated.

zero structure on Florida’s entry. Brodie is with the man then peels off. He enters the zone one on three, gets zero pressure, and the shoot around was basically his only play. Kerfoot doesn’t read the play, us late to react and doesn’t intercept the puck or put a body on to disrupt the cycle back. McCabe job is to protect the side of the net and he ends up out of position in no man’s land.

just zero attn to detail. That’s on the coach.

Willy and bunting both flying the zone Before the leafs had possession in th3 last 2 mins was something.

True enough in a way but maybe they sho..... oh fuck it, I'm not gonna make excuses or defend anyone. They all fucking suck.

Over the last few years of this Leafs incarnation I've questioned my loyalty to this team but if you're a Leafs fan you just can't help it, you just keep coming back for more.

I don't know if I can anymore. This is pretty bad.
