GDT - JAN 12th 2014 -- DEVILS @ LEAFS LTV 7PM EST

phew.

I'll take the points.

but damn I wish we would use another scoring line. we need goals.

I'm concerned, but honestly could give a **** if every win for the rest of the year was in a shootout as long as they make the playoffs

Baby steps, I guess. But the team looks no better, particularly against a mediocre team on a back to back. Of course, the refs sure did their part for the devils.

Yeah, not a particularly impressive outing by the Leafs but they got the two points and defeated the bad officiating as well.

Disgusting effort all around by the Leafs tonight (as per usual)! They gave up 38 shots to a team that averages the fewest shots per game, they struggled all night to make simple plays out of their own end and outside of a few players they werent using their legs tonight. Bernier, a powerplay goal and a shootout is the reason they won.... nothing to be proud of though if your a Leaf player.

The only reason it went to shootout is a horrifically bad call on the JVR goal...

That goal should have counted, not sure what the ref was smoking on that play but lets not kid ourselves here the Leafs struggled badly to beat a very mediocre New Jersey Devils team.

It is sure obvious by now we end up with the short end of the stick on pretty much all the bad goalie calls ....

Almost as ugly as that call though, is our game tonight against ... sure, I get how we play tight after all the losses ... but man our D is HORRIFIC these days. How do we forget how to play D from last season to this season? I dunno ... but Bernier came up big again and maybe not to the extent he 'stole' the game, but he had a very big part in the 2 points tonight.

Our PP is very indecisive, we hang on to the puck for way too long looking for plays that will pass into the net, especially our D is very reluctant to shoot / 1-time the passes.

Franson continues to be horrific with his defensive coverage ... he hasn't been a healthy scratch even once this season.

2 points is 2 points, but if that's the only circumstances we actually mange to win - playing a mediocre team on the backend of a back-to-back ... then we're most likely not gonna get too many wins. Needed SO to win it too (granted, the ref was a big reason it went to OT)

Yeah, I don't see how they can call that. Or how that doesn't get overruled in a ref huddle on the ice. What a joke.

Should've been a regulation win, and that goal might've changed things entirely by putting momentum in our favor. Instead it gave NJ a second chance and we had to battle that much harder.

Nothing is coming easy this year. And I still can't stand seeing Bad Grandpa behind our bench anymore.
